Learners will gain awareness of the different communication needs and abilities of individuals with dementia in order to encourage positive interaction.

Unit 4: Understand equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care

The training students will be introduced to equality, diversion and inclusion which are all important when practicing the person-centred care approach in dementia care.

Unit 5: Understand the administration of medication to individuals with dementia using a person-centred approach

This unit helps people to understand the medication available and explores specific needs that some individuals with dementia may have when receiving medication.

Unit 6: Understand behaviour in the context of dementia

Learners will look at the different behaviours of individuals with dementia and how to respond to certain types of behaviour.

Unit 7: Understand the benefits of engaging in activities in social care

This unit explores how engaging in social activities to enhance mental, physical and social well-being can benefit individuals with dementia.

After successful completion, students will receive a nationally recognised qualification in the principles of dementia care that is recognised throughout the UK.

  2. I have not long stared working with people with dementia. It is a charity in Inverurie.
    They are aware that I am looking for training on dementia.
    I very much like working in this field but I would benefit from training But I have not got a lot of money to get on this training course.
    I would like if you could forward me some information on the training available.
