Stan Lintern has had Alzheimer’s disease for 10 years. He is cared for by his wife Denise, who helped set up the Maidstone branch of the Alzheimer’s Society and runs the help line. Last year, she was awarded an MBE for services to her local community.

      It is called a person hoist. The one in the film is a mobile hoist. There are many kinds and makes of person hoist’s available to rent and buy that can lift a person in and out of the bed, bath or chair. These could be a mobile hoist, a ceiling hoist or a hoist for lifting a person in and out of a car.
      I have left a link below which will give you more information on manufactures that sell and rent these kinds of hoists and a lot more information about how a person hoist works.
